A specialized oil tanker training programme (TASCO) is aobligatory course for obtaining level - 2 Oil Tanker Endorsement (DCE), which is a requirement under STCW chapter V/1 for all officers wanting to serve on board chemical tankers in the management level, in addition such personnel must have completed the Tanker.
It comprises an advanced training program appropriate to their duties, including oil tanker safety, fire safety measures, pollution prevention, operational practice and obligations under applicable law and regulations. The course covers the competence requirements as given in the table under Section A-V/1-1-2 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, as amended.
